Just like charity, recycling also begins at home. As a homemaker, inculcate the awareness of recycling process. Encourage family members to collect litter and scrap in different bags viz. paper, bottles, cans, kitchen waste, etc. Joining up with local groups involved with recycling is a good idea. Vegetable and fruit peelings can be thrown on the plants in case you have a little garden space. Arrange for sending the collected scrap to the recycling collection centre. A point to be noted is that all types of paper cannot be recycled. The waxed and carbon variety of paper are non-recyclable.
